Now in it's sixth decade, the New England Auto Show has for several years successfully found its home at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. For the 2018 edition, visitors can sit in and explore over new 500 vehicles, or even take some of the cars for a spin.
The show, which only occupies half of the convention floor, is perhaps better compared with a cross brand dealership, whereby one can shop in the convenience of a single location, and if that is what you are looking for, the show will more than suffice.
Noticeable absentees such as Mercedes-Benz or BMW aside, other top of the line manufactures such as Porsche, Land Rover and Audi were present, yet the show is still dominated by behemoths such as Hyundai, Ford, Volkswagen, Kia, Toyota and Chevrolet, and I even spotted two Fiats!
While most manufactures showcased models that have already hit the dealerships, the pleasant exception to the rule was the East Coast premiere of the stunning 2019 Aston Martin Vantage V8. Having been on a winning design streak, the new Vantage will surely receive the attention it deserves by Bostonians and can be yours for a bargain price of just over $150,000.
Positioned as a direct competitor of Porsche's GT3, the Vantage comes with an AMG twin-turbocharged V8 providing 503 horsepower, and the 50/50 weight distribution plus acceleration from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds will make this a fun car to drive and very easy on the eyes. According to the corporate representative, the Vantage on display in Boston this week is only one of two that are currently touring the country, and definitely worth seeing up close!
If you plan to visit this weekend, there is plenty of other eye candy, and the New England show makes no exception with its display of Koenigsegg, Pagani, Bugatti and Lamborghini; all to be admired at the"hypercar highway", or if sports cars are not your thing, you can always head towards the pickup section.
